“Much unhappiness has come into the world because of bewilderment and things left unsaid.”  - Fyodor Dostoyevsky

1. Beginning of the year phone calls

2. Weekly Progress Reports

3. Family conferences

4. Various documents that outline the expectations of the class and the goals for the year.

The progress reports have proven to be the most effective way to keep parents in the loop. Here is a sample progress report one could use to send home to parents:

By sending home this progress report, parents are constantly informed on how their child is fairing in the class. The student is also kept aware of what assignments they are missing, how long they have to make up missing work, and how their attendance affects their grade.
